I watered my plant today, for the first time. It didn’t perk up noticeably. This whole plant thing isn’t as exciting as I hoped.
I was going to buy a fish. But instead, I got a plant from my mom.
Here it is, on the first day home:

It’s a Dieffenbachia! A little droopy, so I needed something to tie it to the stake. All I could find in my room was dental floss.

A little ghostly, and floss would be a bit harsh on the skin of the plant, so I took out an old pair of shorts that had outlived its usefulness, and went to town.
That gitch-strip did the trick.

Now it stands a little straighter, and can reach a little more light, though it doesn’t need much.

Stay tuned to watch it grow. Like watching paint dry, only slower!
